The course has an interesting
and challenging layout on a base of sand and pebbles, genuine links country,
however the course lends itself to a more parkland style. Most fairways
are tree lined and there are a good number of well placed bunkers. The
sand is not heavy, but some of these bunkers are deep. The terrain undulates
and provides plenty of challenging lies. With raised greens on most holes
chipping can prove a real challenge.
Hole 1 - Westward Ho(Par 4)
Championship 347m, Club
347m, Womens 335m.
A drive down the right side will leave you a flat lie. A medium or short
iron to a green sloping slightly from right to left. Avoid the bunker
on the right side of the green.
Hole 2 - Estuary (Par 4)
Championship 352m, Club
332m, Womens 303m.
A good drive will get you to the top of a two-tiered fairway. A medium

to the right and a drop off to the left of the green making it a tricky
chip back.

back onto green but bunker to the right.
Hole 7 - Long John (Par 5)
Championship 501, Club
501, Womens 420.

right.

Right to left dog-leg. Straight down the middle, short iron to inviting
green.
Hole 15 - Ridgeway (Par 5)
