Morrinsville is a town with a population of 5500 but serving an additional rural community of 10,000. It is primarily a service centre for the dairy farm industry situated in the heart of the Waikato region. Visitor accommodation is available at the Nottingham Castle Hotel, Morrinsville Motel or a variety of private homes, rural or urban, by arrangement (home hosting). In addition to the Morrinsville golf club's course, there are three other 18 hole courses within a 15km radius of Morrinsville, and a further 25 courses within one hour's drive! Hamilton City (population 100,000) is only 20 minutes away and Morrinsville is only 90 minutes by road to New Zealand's busiest international airport, Auckland.
